Lessons learned — EODD day 2

September 16, 2010

Well, yesterday went fairly well, even though it was not at all what I’d planned.

Had my snacks on the right timing and then when I expected samosas for my feed meal I ended up with pistachios and pomegranate juice. Had to go with my backup plan of the cold pizza from the night before.

Because of the timing of what else was going on last night I had several carrots while driving back and forth to return my parents’ truck and then had my protein meal of turkey and cheese wraps on whole wheat tortillas with homemade salsa. I suspect the cheese was stretching the “lean protein” a bit.

This morning I realized my shopping had gone awry as well, so I made a random shake with cucumber, tomato, and rice protein powder. One word: blech! I added water to make it drinkable and honey to make it palatable. And after all that struggle realized I’d forgotten my lesson from yesterday and realized again that I should have done my 9min morning exercise sequence before filling my belly with that much liquid.

Today’s lesson (which I will remember): don’t make up your own shakes w/o the experience from having followed the recipes in the book for a while. That and check your produce to make sure it is good by itself (the cucumber seeds were bitter, which didn’t help the overall concoction.)

MaƱana.
